These social animals spend most of their time together. Packs vary in size greatly and may be as small as a pair, or have more than 30 members. Young pups that are born into the packs may remain there, or break up to form new packs when they become young adults.

The scientific name of this dog is Lycaon pictus. It ranges from South Africa to east of Sahara. The dogs have large, bat like ears and resemble wolves in appearance. The color patterns with splotches of yellow, black, white and gray cover the entire body of the animal. The species of africa wild dog won't be found in most breeders circle of kennels.
