Airedale Terriers are medium sized dogs. Their stiff coats are water resistant, and seem wiry and bristly. The dog’s appearance is characterized by busy eyebrows, a beard and a mustache. Males normally weigh around 50-60 pounds, and measure 23-24 inches in height.

The largest of the terriers, these dogs are sometimes referred to as the King of terriers. The breed is thought to have resulted from a large Terrier with a rough coated Otter Hound in the 19th century. Airedale terriers are courageous, agile, and smart dogs.
