Agile and merry, these dogs make wonderful pets for the whole family as they are playful and enjoy much attention. Purebred dogs of this breed are described as sturdy, compactly-built, and conveying the impression of quality without coarseness. Their eyes are dark brown or hazel, fairly large, set well apart with mild appealing expression. The ears are long, with rounded tip, reaching nearly to the end of nose when drawn out. The size of these dogs varies from 13 to 16 inches at withers. In the USA, there are two breed varieties: under 13 inches and under 15 inches at withers.
