This is a small scenting hound, bred specially to track the rabbit and hare. The size of the hound allows the hunter to follow the dog on foot. These dogs come in two varieties: 13-inch and 15-inch. The most common colors are black and tan or white, black and tan, but all other hound colors are accepted. The coat is short and sleek. The hair should lie close to the body of the dog and should be hard, never soft or silky.
