Like all hounds, these dogs are easily attracted with scents and follow their nose. If allowed to walk off leash, these hounds may get lost or get into trouble, so obedience lessons are a mush for every dog of this breed. Daily obedience lessons for at least two years can guarantee a perfectly obedient dog. Some hounds even excel in obedience trials, so it’s not correct to say that this breed is bad in obedience. Much depends on the breeder and the owner.
