Colorado Beagle Rescue

Colorado beagle rescue saves adult dogs and puppies. A non-profit, tax-exempt, tax-deductible organization, which is operated by volunteers, is dedicated to the welfare of the breed. Volunteers work hard to find new loving homes for the needy dogs. The dogs are spayed or neutered, and health and temperament tested. Prior to adoption, all dogs are kept in foster homes for rehabilitation and evaluation of their temperament. If the dog is too aggressive, it cannot be adopted. Other bad habits, such as barking and chewing, can be trained out of the animal. Colorado beagle rescue saves adult dogs and puppies. The name of the breed came from the Celtic word “beag,” which means small. However, there are some other theories as far as the origin of the breed’s name is concerned. It could have stemmed from the French word “begle.” In appearance, these scenting hounds resemble foxhounds in miniature. The dogs of this breed are very popular companions. They have a friendly and affectionate nature. One of the distinctive characteristics of this breed is their loud and harmonious voice. Being excellent hunters, these dogs like to chase things, chew on everything, follow interesting scents and bark. Colorado beagle rescue saves adult dogs and puppies.
