These hounds preserve their hunting instincts at present as well. They are often used for their primary purpose. In appearance, these dogs are hardy, and squarely built. They have a short coat, which is quite easy to groom. The coat may come in red and white, orange and white, or lemon and white hues. Other characteristic physical features of this breed are their straight and square muzzle, long, pendant ears, brown or hazel eyes and a black nose.
