These dogs need only high quality food and eat 4 cups twice a day. The dogs are subject to bloat and torsion; such conditions require immediate vet care. Like all large breeds, these dogs are prone to hip dysplasia and should not be allowed to jump high to avoid injuries.

The life span of these dogs is rather short – 6-10 years, that’s why they have to grow rapidly and in less than 2 years turn into very large creatures, weighing up to 140 pounds and reaching 29 inches at the shoulders.
