A black border collie, white, or tri-color dog should all come from a responsible breeder; breeders should also test the breeding stock. These dogs are easily obedience trained. They need firm and fair training, which will provide the dogs with the rules of behavior. These dogs live to work. Some breed owners claim they fail to control their pets’ herding instinct, energy and intelligence. The handling abilities of a person should match the breed’s requirements.
