The cevennes shepherd dog is very rare today and is unlikely that you would find out at a rescue.
It is still possible to find these dogs in Lower Languedoc or Lower Provence. As for appearance, they have a double coat that has fawn or dark spots averaging 20 inches with unremarkable conformation. They are believed to be very independent.

Little is known about this breed now, as their population is very scarce and it is even hard to tell the exact numbers of dogs left. In fact, the breed is believed to be nearly extinct and the F.C.I.
