The Chihuahua is a very tiny dog; in fact it is the smallest breed of dog in the world. Its size and personality make it a good companion. The Chihuahua remained rare until the early 1900s. They started gaining notoriety after being shown on television and in the early 1960s, it peaked as an American Kennel Club breed and was ranked 3rd in 1964.
