This is an ancient breed of northern Chinese origin. These dogs were used for hunting, herding, pulling and home protection. Nowadays, they are companion dogs. In appearance, these canines are rather powerful, sturdy, and squarely built. Their body is compact, and muscular. The dog’s tail is set high.
