Chow Chow
The chow chow is not a breed of dog usually found in a rescue kennel.
The breed originated in China about two thousand years ago and was used there for guarding, pulling, and other purposes. Sometimes, these dogs were used as food and fur resource. The breed tends to be aloof, yet is affectionate with the owner.

This is a medium-sized dog that comes in two coat varieties. Smooth-coated dogs require only a few brushing sessions a week except when the dog is shedding seasonally. Rough-coated dogs are more difficult to care for as they need daily brushing. The chow chow is not a breed of dog usually found in a rescue kennel.
