The height for the dogs is about 14-18 inches fro the Standard type and about 14 inches for the Miniature type. These dogs are very famous for being extremely devoted to their owners. These dogs are very brave and protective when it comes to their family.

The life expectancy of these dogs are about 12-15 years. With proper care, the dogs of this very breed can live to be over 16 years old. The weight of the dog of this breed is about 20 pounds (fro the Standard type) and for the Miniature type is about 9 pounds. A dachshund pup may not want to be separated from the other puppies at the rescue.
