Spitz dogs are characterized by a wolf-like appearance as illustrated in pictures by many breeders.
Most breeds in this group are dark solid colors with a small amount of white markings. Their personalities have retained most of the wolf instincts, making them ideal for hunting, guarding and hauling. They are not used to herd because of the drive to complete the hunt with a kill.
