Terriers have an ancient breed history. In developing the Terriers, breeders crossed ancient Dachshunds, the English Hound, and later the Fox Hound and Beagle. Today there are three types of Fox Terriers, the Wire Fox Terrier, the Smooth Fox Terrier, and the Toy Fox Terrier. The Fox Terrier can be a very aggressive breed for its size and has been known to initiate fights with other dogs and animals.
