German Shepherd Dog Clubs

[an error occurred while processing this directive]

Most german shepherd dog clubs will list the breeders kennel in the members section of the website. There are different types of the coat of these hounds. Thus, one strain of these hounds has a long coat. Such coats are less useful and more difficult to groom, but many pet owners seem to like this long-coated version. Actually these hounds look beautiful in their own way. As a matter of fact, there are not too strict standards and these hounds also participate in the show ring. Very few breeders would deliberately breed from long-coated stock. The normal coat is dominant to the long version, so there are three kinds of hounds: normal, normal but carrying the long coat gene, and long. Most german shepherd dog clubs will list the breeders kennel in the members section of the website.

Prior to purchasing a pup, check that its both parents are tested for hip and elbow dysplasia, eye disorders and other health problems typical of the breed. If the breeder claims that the dog is perfect, itís better to avoid such a kennel, because the breeder is unknowledgeable or wants to conceal something. Reputable breeders always tell about typical problems of this particular bloodline. Responsible breeders are always ready to help with advice and take a pup back, if the owner cannot keep it any more. They can be the guides when training the dog. Most german shepherd dog clubs will list the breeders kennel in the members section of the website.
