kennels, rescues

The father of the breed is Capt. Max von Stephanitz, who had long admired the qualities of this dog, believed in improving them and finding new usage for the breed. He formed a society, (Verein fur deutsche Schaferhunde or SV) marking the beginning of a new era for the breed. The GS popularity was gone from during the World War II and only after the war it was popular again. Nowadays this is one of the world’s most popular breeds. No other single breed is able to master the wide range of skills as GS’s. The sable german shepherd can be found in most kennels and rescues.
