After the WWII, Germany was divided into two parts and the breed was also divided into two types: the eastern and western ones. These two types developed on their own, as there were no possibilities to mix eith dogs from the other part of the country. The access was restricted to either part of the country because of a combination of political, bureaucratic, sociological, and perhaps most importantly economic separation. Thatís why the DDR dog remained a pure breed. The german shepherd frame, training recommendations and photo galleries can be found on many websites.
