These dogs are very playful and agile; they enjoy active games, especially fetching. Retrieving a stick, ball or flying disc can keep a dog of this breed occupied for hours. If a dog is regularly used for hunting, it doesn’t need any additional exercise, but pet dogs kept in the backyard should be walked at least twice a day. Unlike most other breeds, these dogs enjoy swimming. These dogs require a lot of exercise to burn off excessive energy. Lack of exercise often leads to obesity in these dogs.
