Reputable breeders have long waiting lists for the upcoming litters and it usually takes much time to buy a purebred dog. A puppy can be taken to a new home at the age of 7-8 weeks, after it’s given immunizing shots and the basics of canine socialization. Older pups may have problems with adaptation.
