This breed appeared in the 19th century as a result of the deliberate crossing of a yellow wavy-coated gundogs and Tweed water spaniel. Lord Tweedmouth has bred an excellent dog for waterfowl hunting, which is able to swim in cold water and retrieve game. Today the breed has a very versatile use: it can be a family companion; it is good in show rings and various competitions and can be trained for drugs and arson searching. Due to their affectionate personality and lack of aggression, these dogs make good guides for the blind. The golden history retriever will include pictures of adult dogs and puppies.
