Golden Retriever Breeder
A golden retriever breeder is usually involved with the local rescue organization for this breed of dog.
Every step in the breeding program should be carefully planned and certain goals should be set before mating. Each mating should reinforce the desirable effects. Only experienced specialists can decide in advance which features they would like to retain and which to avoid. Both parents should be tested to identify genetic diseases and possible carriers of the defective genes. Such animals have to be neutered or spayed in order not to preserve faults in the breed. Puppy mills and pet shops usually don’t care about the improvement of the breed.

Golden Retriever Breeder -
rescue, dog
The breed owes its origin to line-breeding program unusual for the 19th century. The exact origin of this breed lies in the careful work of Sir Dudley Marjoribanks. Some breeds that have contributed to the gene pool of the new breed are now extinct, but careful studbook records leave no doubts that the breed’s gene pool involves Bloodhounds, Setters, the lesser St.John's Water Dog of Newfoundland, the Tweed Water Spaniel, and other hunting dogs popular at that time. Some scientists believe that Russian circus dogs were used as the foundation stock for the breed, but historians agree that it’s a myth.
