These dogs are praised for different qualities. Some lines are bred for their physical appearance for show purposes. Show dogs are big and with a long luxurious coat. Dogs bred for field ability are smaller and darker colored. Dogs of the conformation type can also be good in hunting, but their owners don’t usually hunt with them. Field type dogs have a chance to win in the show ring, if their owners are interested in shows. Crossbreeding with other breeds adds specific features to the dogs, but they can no longer participate in shows for purebreds.

These dogs came from a cross between the two breeds. This type of dogs is not recognized and should not be bred for sale. They look very much like their parents and are usually large dogs ranging in color from caramel to dark brown. They are very active and people-oriented, they require much daily exercise and like to run, dig and swim, like their ancestors. Such dogs are longhaired and need regular brushing and bathing.
