Golden Retriever Hunting

Golden retriever hunting requires careful breeding and training at the kennels; a picture will show it. Nowadays, these dogs are rarely used for their original purpose, but most of them enjoy swimming and retrieving. Swimming is excellent exercise for a dog, but the master should not toss a dog into the water, if it doesn’t want to. Like other sporting breeds, these dogs need plenty of exercise. Fully grown dogs benefit best from regular periods of high intensity activity; puppies should be exercised more carefully, as they may damage their joints when jumping or running fast. Fetching, romping with other dogs, running near a bike are favorite activities for this breed. Golden retriever hunting requires careful breeding and training at the kennels; a picture will show it. The original aim of the breed was to retrieve waterfowl and small game on water and land. To perform this task the dogs should have a keen sense of smell, be very hard working and intelligent and able to swim in cold water. Today the breed has a very versatile use; it just cannot be used as a watchdog due to the natural curiosity and friendliness. These dogs make good pets, companions and guides for the disabled, and are excellent at show rings and various competitions. Golden retriever hunting requires careful breeding and training at the kennels; a picture will show it.
