Hash House Harrier

Before obtaining a hash house harrier from a kennel, ask to see the pictures of the foundation stock. These hounds are medium-sized scent hounds that developed in England beginning in the 13th century for hunting hares in large packs. Originally they were used to hunt hare exclusively with hunters on foot, so they were much slower, more methodical hound, reminiscent of the Bloodhound type. These are friendly, outgoing and fun loving, a true hound, they are energetic, independent, self-willed and persistent. Because they are naturally independent and sometimes they have a stubborn nature, obedience training is highly recommended. Grooming is very easy to these creatures as their coat is short. Before obtaining a hash house harrier from a kennel, ask to see the pictures of the foundation stock.
