It may take time to find a good breeder, as the number of the dogs bred is not great. This breed has a long history, yet is not real known to the general public. However, the situation is improving, as breeders work hard for breed recognition.

These dogs were developed in Denmark and are now 45-60 pounds in weight and 23-25'/2 inches high on average. Their coat is short and fine in texture and comes in yellow-orange with small white markings on feet, tail tip, chest, and muzzle. Hertha pointer dogs are some what rare today but are a really neat and fun dog.
