The landseer dog should be obtained from experienced breeders that will provide early training and health guarantees.
Collar, fore chest, belly, legs and tail of the dog must be white. The head is black, with white muzzle and a white symmetrical blaze. It is neither too narrow, nor too wide. The back should be straight and level, wide and strong from withers to croup. The chest is deep and broad.

These dogs give the impression of a tall, powerful and well-balanced animal. The legs of the dog are comparatively longer than those of the black Newfoundland dog. The coat is soft to the touch, with good undercoat. It is slightly wavy on the back.
