It is believed that the Pembroke Welsh Corgi was brought to Wales in 1107 A.D. by Flemish weavers. They are the smallest of the herding dogs. “Corgi” comes from the Welsh language and means “dwarf dog.” This breed enjoys obeying its owner and is eager to accomplish its duties. The Pembroke Welsh Corgi can make a great guard dog and is especially wary of strangers.
