The Perro Cimarron is the only dog truly native to Uruguay. This breed has existed in Uruguay for over 300 years and was developed by crossing Mastiffs and Lebréis that were brought from Spanish and Portuguese conquerors. This dog is good at working cattle and some hunting. The Perro Cimarron is also a guardian of its home and family.
