The Brazilian Terrier is one of only two breeds native to Brazil. Valued as a hunter, ratter, watchdog, guard dog, herder and companion, it embodies the best characteristics of the terrier group. This breed is basically unknown outside of Brazil. It is not uncommon in some regions of Brazil to hunt with small packs of these small terriers. When working in packs, they surround their prey from all directions until the animal is exhausted.
