The Karelo-Finnish Laika is though to have once been the Finnish Spitz before developing into its own breed. This occurred after some breeding occurred in Western Russia. This breed is an excellent hunter of birds and hare. Attractive appearance and lively, friendly temperament of Karelo-Finnish Laikas make them interesting family dogs.
