The Picardy Spaniel's home is in the Somme Valley of France. These dogs descended from the Chien d'Oysel Setter just as the French Spaniel did. This versatile dog excels at pointing, retrieving and hunting and is also known for its excellent smelling ability especially in swampland. The Picardy Spaniel will make a good companion with its happy and friendly attitude.
