The Taigan's origin is unclear but they do have similarities to the Greyhound breed. They are not as big as greyhounds and they have more
similarities to the Afghan hound. They have less fur than the latter
breed and they are in fact more robust. This is a Kyrgiz breed, it's also called Kyrgiz Sighthound Taigan. They are used to hunt for mountain muflons. Unfortunately, the Taigans numbers have been declining and they are near extinction.
