Puppy uglies should not worry pom owners as almost every Pom puppy goes through this stage of acquiring an adult coat. Starting from age 3 months and up to 9-10 months, the puppy will look ragged and untidy. However, by one year old, the dog is sure to become a beauty.

Breed owners should be prepared to regularly care for the double coat of their pets if they want to have healthy and beautiful Poms. The Pom has a soft undercoat and a long outer coat.
