Males are very massive, with larger frame and heavier bone than bitches. Males range from 24 to 27 inches at the withers and weigh from 95 to 135 pounds. Bitches stand from 22 to 25 inches at the withers and weigh from 80 to 100 pounds. The only accepted coat color in this breed is black with tan or mahogany markings on cheeks, muzzle, chest and legs as well as over both eyes.
