These dogs are characterized by a large broad head, with arched forehead, well-developed stop and very strong jaws. A scissors bite is preferred. The back is firm and level. The chest should be well sprung, deep and broad. The legs are straight and muscular. The feet are compact, with thick pads. The tail should be docked short. The only coat color is black.
