When choosing a female rottweiler, visit several kennels and choose a breeder.
By no means should a dog of this breed be aggressive. A high quality purebred dog should accept examination by the owner, a veterinarian or a judge without either shrinking away or becoming aggressive. Otherwise, the dog cannot participate in shows and should be spayed or neutered to prevent passing unacceptable temperament to its offspring. Reputable breeders do their best to prevent aggression in their pups. Dogs with aggressive tendencies are not sold at all or are placed in families that know how to deal with such dogs and correct their temperament. Dogs with biting records cannot be adopted from a rescue.

Bitches of this breed are usually good and gentle mothers. They whelp easily and take good care of the puppies. There can be up to 12 puppies in the litter. The owner is sure to have little problems with the puppies. It is very important to socialize and train the puppies since the earliest age, because otherwise they may be difficult to train and adapt to the new family.
