Puppies obtained from responsible kennels are healthier than those bought from pet stores, puppy mills, and brokers because they are produced from the certified stock. A serious disorder makes a dog difficult to live with. Old and unhealthy dogs are often surrendered by their owners. Osteochondrosis Dissecans, Paneosteitis, Von Willebrand's Disease, eye and heard disorders, allergies and many others occur in some bloodlines of this breed. Like all large and massive breeds, these dogs are prone to hip and elbow dysplasia. It may lead to lameness and causes much pain. There is no effective cure for this hereditary disorder, but it can be prevented.
