These dogs vary to some degree within the breed, though they have much in common. There are standards that are announced by the clubs and the purebred dogs that are bred in responsible kennels should correspond to these standards. The dogs should not be nervous, timid and shy. These dogs are highly territorial and are always ready to protect their owners and the family. The dogs are not barkers and will not annoy the neighbors, though they are ready to warn you about strangers at the door.
