The average height of this breed is from 24 to 27 inches at the withers with bitches being 22-25 inches high. Dogs weigh from 90 to 130 pounds and bitches reach about 115 pounds. These creatures are massive and powerful. Their coat should be short and thick; the only coat patterns acceptable are black with brown markings on the legs, paws, muzzle, and cheeks and red with brown markings.
