The Scottish Terrier is sensitive and will make a good pet for someone who understands their spirited nature. Originally they were used to hunt den animals, particularly otter, fox, badger and rabbit. Brave and alert, this breed makes a good watchdog. It likes to bark, loves to play ball, and does best with an older considerate child. The Scottish Terrier has been described as a big dog in a small dog's body.
