It is believed that the Tibetan Terrier was raised for hundreds of years high in the Tibetan mountains by monks. In most cases, this breed performed little to no work, but instead was a valuable companion to the isolated monks. This breed of dog would be given to travelers or friends for good fortune, but they were never sold. This outgoing dog, makes an excellent family pet.
Also called Dhoki Apso.
